I just downloaded the Raspberry Pi Imager for Windows (Win7Pro SP1) from your website and tried to use it to create a boot device for the new Pi 5 that I bought in Cambridge yesterday. While it created a set of files on the device, I had two problems when using the Imager to try to configure the installation.
On the services page, I wanted to set up the boot with a private key configuration. The “Getting started - Raspberry Pi Documentation” page gives the impression that I can just click on the “SSH Keygen” “button” to do this, but in my case this “button” was not active. At the same time, it seems that I was expected to enter something on the line under the “Allow” button, but the instructions give no indication of what this text will be used for.
Then on the options page, I had no idea what the “enable telemetry” option would do or whether it would be helpful to the creation process or my understanding of how this would affect the use of this boot device.
I have no idea how to contact the developers of the Imager tool, but I hope that somehow this post will enable some form of update to the tool and its documentation to happen to correct and / or clarify these issues.
Thanks in advance for any help here.
