General discussion • SD Card Copier - Any way to Exclude a Source Partition?

Recently migrated to a small 128gb SSD on my RPi 4b doing away with the SD card. All works great. I have been using a separate USB 3 Thumb Drive (64gb) to store my MP3 music on for MPD. So with the larger SSD, I created a 3rd partition (ext4) thinking I can move my MP3 files to it and do away with the thumb drive. My SSD has /dev/sda1 as my boot partition, /dev/sda2 as my root partition and now /dev/sda3 as my new 64gb /media/ssd64 music folder.

Here is my problem: I use SD Card Copier regularly to back up my Pi. I have plenty of backups for my MP3 files, so I don't really need to include them in my Pi backups. Is there any way I can still use the SD CC utility but somehow EXCLUDE backing up the music folder partition?

Is there any way to create a separate partition on the SSD such that it is not included in the /dev/sda group of partitions but rather get a /dev/sd letter of its own? (ie. /dev/sdb)
