It's actually 2 boat batteries, but same thing. The issue I am looking to solve is my battery charger that is connected to both batteries will lose power from the dock, I would like to be alerted when this happens. I have access to wifi and I could leave a raspberry pi with whatever peripherals in the battery compartment.
I could hook up one of the cameras I have to view the lights on the charger but I would have to monitor the lights, meaning log in and look. I would like some sort of script to alert me when the power goes out. It would be cool to use some vision module to determine the light state has changed and notify.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a way I could hook into the charging of the battery, maybe read the voltage programmatically and determine the charge state? Is that possible?
