Hello
i want to connect a garmin gt20 tm transducer as 4 pin version with my raspberry pi.
First i thought i can use an RS422 connection board as interface for an NMEA0183 protocol.
Literally now after i bought it(silly me
) i found out, that the cable of the sensor has just 3 wires(red, black, white) inside. Of those there are 2 wire just for supply voltage(red 10-36V, black Ground) and a single white one.
Now i thought that it is a NMEA2000 device and i could use the power supply ground as the Low-Level and the white one as High-Level and connect it via a RS485 connection with my RPI. But that isn't working.
My question now is: Which interface is necessary for a Garmin GT20 TM Transducer or similar sensors?
