I'm the developper of the BTBerryWifi App found on the Apple App Store - introduced here: viewtopic.php?p=2090840&hilit=btberrywifi#p2090840 to this forum. With this app you can set up a new wifi Network (SSID and password) on a headless Raspberry Pi using your phone's bluetooth.
I had a number of requests to write a version of the app for Android, which is almost ready. However I have hit a snag.
Google introduced new requirements for publishing apps on its Play Store. I will need to find 20 Testers who agree to download the app and use it for 14 consecutive days. Clearly, these 20 people need to have an Android phone as well as a Raspberry Pi to test the app on. These testers must also have a gmail address - which they need to provide to me so i can register them with Google as testers.
The alternative would be to provide the app as a "sideload" which bypass the Google Play store.
So my questions to this forum are:
1. Would any of you want to be testers? I so you can:
- leave a response here - I'll message you when I'm ready for testing
- send me an email through my blog: https://normfrenette.com/contact/#sectionTop
2. If I went with the side loading method (not Google Play store) - is that something you would do? (side loading the app)
Thanks for your opinion.
Norm
PS:
If you have an Apple iPhone or iPad, and want to try the app (it's free - with in app purchase only if you need advanced features):
I have just published a new version that works with NetworkManager (now included in Bookworm,) as well as advanced features such as encryption. This url will take you to install script and instructions:
