I have purchased a new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ with a customized OS installed on the SD card. When connected to a monitor via HDMI and powered on, the Pi's green LED blinks continuously, but nothing is displayed on the monitor.
In contrast, the same setup works perfectly with another Pi 3 Model B+ I bought 2 years ago, where the OS boots and displays correctly.
I also installed the Raspberry Pi OS (Legacy) with desktop on the SD card and inserted the SD card into the newly purchased Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. When connected to a monitor via HDMI and powered on, the monitor displays the loading images, successfully boots, and the window appears.
So the Raspberry Pi OS (Legacy) with desktop works perfectly on both the old and new Pi.
Here is the customized OS information:
PRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)"
NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux"
VERSION_ID="10"
VERSION="10 (buster)"
VERSION_CODENAME=buster
ID=raspbian
ID_LIKE=debian
HOME_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/"
SUPPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianForums"
BUG_REPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianBugs"
What could be the reason for this issue with the new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, and how can I resolve it?
