Raspberry Pi OS • [pi4][bookworm][fbdev] overscan on hdmi

Hello everyone,

I’m using a Raspberry Pi 4 with the following firmware:
Mon 21 Oct 14:24:54 UTC 2024 (1729520694)

I’ve connected it to a Philips BDM4350 monitor, running in 4K text mode, but I’m facing a significant overscan issue on the left side of the screen.

When I enable overscan compensation in the config.txt file, the overscan issue is resolved, but then Kodi (in standalone mode) doesn’t display fullscreen. This creates a frustrating trade-off.

I’m puzzled because this is a modern monitor, and I thought overscan problems were mostly an issue with older displays. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution? I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions to fix this.
