General discussion • Backing up the micro sd card

I used the sd card copier accessory to make a copy of the sd card in my pi 3 b+. All appeared to go well but when I test it by switching cards in the unit the particular program I use does not initiate. I see the hourglass, like it is working but nothing happens. Have I missed something, is there something more I should have captured?
