General • Switching power supply between usb and batteries

I'm building a game/controller based on the Raspberry Pi Pico using CircuitPython. I would like to include a charging method similar to a console controller, where, when connecting the controller via the micro USB cable, it stops drawing power from the batteries and switches to the USB cable. I've looked at the Raspberry Pi Pico datasheet and saw multiple options for powering the Pico, but none mentioned this feature. My goal is to maintain direct access to the micro USB port on the Raspberry Pi and not create a bypass with a transistor. Is it possible?
