Hello all.
I set up a Samba share with my Pi at home. Two external drives, one HDD and one SSD plugged into a powered hub, the Pi is plugged into ethernet.
Both drives are exfat, which I understand is slower. I get solid 30MB/s transfer speeds, and I'm OK with that for now, saving for a new drive where I can transfer everything over and format as ext4.
My issue right now though, is when initiating a file transfer on Windows, the dialog just sits at 0% for a proportionally long time depending on the file size. For instance, a 1GB video file takes maybe 30 seconds before actually showing a transfer. And a 10GB file, several minutes.
Is there something I can do about that initial hangup? Or is the Pi doing something while initiating the transfer? I'm pretty new to any commands that may help diagnose this. I appreciate any advice, thanks.
