Troubleshooting • RPi5 display glitches out randomly with green lines

I've been experiencing this issue since the past few days. I am an AOSP 15 (KonstaKang's version) user.

Just after booting, the display glitches out and goes black, before coming on after sometime. Some time into the OS and the display glitches out with green lines everywhere on the screen and wiggling the HDMI cable a little bit temporarily resolves the issue. This random glitch happens many times while the Pi is turned on and in the OS. This glitch also happens on the diagnoistics screen so it's no software issue.

I had recently installed an off-brand RTC battery and once left it like that overnight. The next day, when I booted the Pi, the boot screen is black, but I know it has loaded the OS, then the screen flickers with the Android homepage completely distorted with red and green lines and the display turns off again. Stabilizing after sometime, the display turns off again midway through my usage.

Could the HDMI port or cable or worse, the GPU itself (though, the GPU seems to be ok since

Code:

dmesg | grep gpu
gives a proper output) have been damaged by the battery?

It is to be noted that these issues were not there, prior to the installation of the battery and noticing these issues I have removed the battery , but I am afraid it may have caused permanent damage to sensitive internal components.
