Watched numerous vids, but were isolated, and lengthy processes based on what was possible, not what was easier. I don't have a lot of time to tinker and test. Wiring and Programming hope to be easy flexible and easily encased/mounted. Would like programming method to be the same for both. Interested in wireless communication potentially.
Rpi's won't be by the living quarters, so want to program onsite, or remotely adjust.
Needs. two separate projects for starting farm. off grid. first is maximize solar power for often cloudy days. Fixed position is great if there are no clouds in the right position for 2 hrs, but, clouds interfere cutting power in 1/2+
1. Solar tracking, single, maybe dual axis. Second axis could be manual by season. (first project single axis) When the sun appears, would like the panels roughly pointing that way.
2. Greenhouse. Temp adjustment via motor opening vents and sprinklers.
Hoping for experienced suggestions, for minimal learning curve study and minimal assembly.
Which Pi. capable and reliable Hat. maybe to include or add a motor controller(s) on hat I'd guess.
1. Solar movement in field. Maybe a high torque stepper/servo with toothed belt would be easy, or polarity swap on a linear actuator without feed back, except limit switches. For preference, a servo with feedback if it were easy
(came up with a novel near 180 dg swing with very low load. Fixed motor and moving belt.)
2. Greenhouse needs temps/vent control/watering, maybe chicken feed/door automation (farmbot seems interesting, maybe not need auto planting, may not do other stuff.) Am interested in what choices there are for a Hat or breakout board for IO and best method for input sensors and output either relays or motor controls? Greenhouse will run on solar 24 volt most likely.
