Kind of a strange post most likely, but instead of making or developing something, I'm looking to break down what's on an existing SD card and potentially repurpose it for a different Pi Board. The gist is that we have an in house media creation app and uses Pi3 boards as a print server, the Pi3 Model B V1.2(2015) and Pi3 Model B+(2017) specifically. We were moving SD cards to new identical boards due to really bad Micro USB ports in the existing boards. As an aside, if anyone knows of a place I can find micro USB replacement ports for Pi 3 Boards, please let me know! I ordered a standard 12 different mounting type pack from amazon and NONE of them fit :(.

Moving on, upon moving the SD cards to their matching boards, we found that the the 2017 boards SD card had corrupted and to our best efforts we could not restore the data on it. I've since made a image of the 2015 board's SD card and confirmed both its original SD card and the image are working properly. Here comes the issue, with the 2017 SD card fried, I've noticed the 2017 board is not liking the 2015 image backup. My assumption is that a fresh Pi OS install on the 2017 board and try to replicate the other functionality of the 2015 board would make the most sense. Is there an easy way to go about this, to be able to see what apps/configuration/settings the 2015 board has? Just curious about what's the best way to move backwards as someone that has 0 knowledge of these boards?

I've obviously mulled over the option of just making a fresh print server, but not sure how the media creation app will take it. The most obvious suggestion is asking the person that made the print server, but they aren't with the company any longer. As far as what I'm looking for the print server to achieve, its to connect to to the print server wirelessly (each board had a USB Wifi Card on it) on a iPad via Wifi. We would then select an actual Wifi source to connect to so users could email and text their creations back to themselves. If all of this functionality is just a common app within the OS that I can add to a install, could someone point me to it? Apologies for the long writeup, wanted to make sure I didn't leave anything out.
