Compute Module • Is it possible to design a carrier board with an eMMC for CM4 lite?

As I know, the CM4 lite works well with an SD card. And, the eMMC pins are compatible with SD card pins.

So, is it possible to design a carrier board with an eMMC, so that a CM4 lite can work on it?

Also, if it can be done, can I flash the board with rpiboot just like a CM4 with an internal eMMC?

PS. I want this because I need a large storage with a stable hardware connection. SD cards may drop out due to a heavy shake.
