General discussion • Move Synology NAS Drives to Pi 5

Kinda done with my Synology 512MB 220j NAS. Just lags, cannot run certain containers, and memory is not upgradable. Instead of spending $300 for the plus model, I want to take the drives and use them in a 4-bay USB drive bay connected to the Pi 5 via USB.

There are currently two 2TB drives in the NAS that are raided. I will run OVM as the NAS OS.

Just wondering if I can just take those drives out, add to the bay, and run them as is. OR, copy the data somewhere, then add the drives, reformat, etc.??
