Raspberry Pi 400 and 500 • Pi500 Rp1-c0 processor?

Hello I’m thinking of buying the pi 500. But from all the photos I’m seeing and the research I’m doing on it. Something I’m confused about. What looks like a pico micro controller, I think it says rp1-c0. Some places see it’s for extra I/O pins and some say it’s for the keyboard. Can someone please tell me what processor that is and what it’s used for?
