I got a set of 4 Raspberry Pi Pico recently. I had no issues with 3 of them. Used the same USB cable, held the BOOTSEL button, dragged and dropped uf2 files, everything worked fine. This last one though is acting very strangely. I can hold the BOOTSEL button, and the Pico comes up with the standard folder with the INFO_UF2.TXT and INDEX.HTM files and seems to be fine, but when I drag and drop a uf2 file, it acts just like the others did, but then upon reconnecting to the computer acts like it is blank, no connection sound or activity at all. I can then repeat the process of holding the BOOTSEL button and plugging it back in, and again it comes up with the aforementioned folder with 2 files in it. I have tried previously used uf2 files that I used on the other 3, and new files from other sources, none seem to stay in the Pico and work. There is one other bit of information that I discovered though. While seeing if maybe there was some kind of firmware update I could try on the Pico, I came across Thonny and beginners guides to the Pico. I downloaded Thonny with a partial thought that it was a firmware upgrader as well as Python script development software. When I use Thonny to install MicroPython or CircuitPython onto the Pico, they actually stay on the Pico and work. I did this and then again tried afterwards to hold BOOTSEL and then drag and drop a uf2 file onto the Pico. This resulted in the same issue as I had been getting from the start. So, hopefully this is enough information to have someone tell me what is wrong with my Pico. Why will it keep and hold the Thonny installed software, but not keep and operate on any drag and dropped uf2 file I try?
