Advanced users • Configuring the Rapsberry Pi 5 power switch functionality

Is there any way to configure the action on the power switch on a Raspberry Pi 5?

The default functionality is a double press to power off. I would like it to be a single press.

The reason is because I am setting one up to use in a motorhome. I have sourced a 12V to 5V, 5A DC-DC convertor and a circuit that will:
* Power on the RPi when the main power is turned on.
* Hold the power to the RPi on when the power is turned off, until the 3.3V power rail turns off (and I have identified a configuration change which should ensure that happens - yet to actually test it).
* Force the power off if the power is turned off and the 3.3V rail is still active after about one minute (I will tune the time but the RPi seems to turn off in about 45 seconds from double power button press). This will guard against a crash/fail to turn off cleanly

To complete that I need a means to trigger the RPi to shutdown cleanly and the obvious solution is to use a FET to simulate the power switch. Again I need to test this, but have identified that the physical switch is a short to 0V, so it should work perfectly. However it is much easier to generate a single pulse to control the FET when the power is turned off, rather than a double pulse.
